Without our bodies, what would we do?

As Aunt Ayn would put it,

A body without a soul is a corpse, a soul without a body is a ghost

But do ghosts exist? I mean, what would a ghost, or a soul in heaven for that matter, or a soul transferred into a computer, actually do?

I mean, let's face it, we spend our lives satisfying our animal instincts, don't we?

In this country, you gotta make the money first. Then when you get the money, you get the power. Then when you get the power, then you get the women

Scarface

And in the meantime, we spend some of the money on food so that we don't starve.

I'm sure you can imagine a lot of cool things you could do as a ghost/soul, not relevant to actual survival. Play computer games for all eternity. Check the girl's locker rooms.

But this is falling right into the wrong perspective fallacy. Let's illustrate:

Jennifer: Meg you seem so sad; today is a happy day!
Meg: I know it's just that... I really like that guy over there but he doesn't even know I exist! He must think I'm a total dog!
Jennifer: Oh that is so not true
Meg: Then what is it?
Jennifer: He's a Eunuch.
Meg: Really?
Jennifer: Sure! All the guys here have been castrated; it's cool!
Guy 1: Hey do you think that girl's hot?
Guy 2: No!
Guy 1: Me neither!

Family Guy

That's what's so illogical about the smurfs... what's the point of living if you don't have a dick?

Donnie Darko

Everything we do that is not directly linked to survival is indirectly linked to survival. Computer games are survival simulations.

No flesh, no survival. No survival, no fun. You can't live if you're not alive. Well, duh.

Sorry. I'm too lazy to make it work under IE. Get Firefox or something.
