Dune

Years after having enjoyed the floppy version, I finally got a chance to play the cd version of Dune! Not only is there better music and voices, plus some videos, but many of the in-game graphics are different too: the desert, the palace... (The screenshot on the linked site is from the floppy disk version.) The result is graphically even more impressive.

As for the game, well, the mix of adventure and strategy genres is quite rare. Only Monkey Island 3 comes to mind as similar in that respect, whereas strategy/tactical games are quite common (X-Com, HOMM series), action/rpg, rpg/adventure, etc, others are not so common like action/adventure (Full Throttle), strategy/action (Dungeon Keeper), however strategy/adventure still seems the most original to me.

Knowing the game by heart now, took only a few hours to finish. The Dune ambiance is always great to get into.
