Applied EP: Game

Some EP basics and their Mystery Method translation:

  • mismatch current civilization very short time span compared to Stone Age, thus we're adapted to the Stone Age. Mystery says: we're adapted to living in a tribe of 50 people 40 000 of years ago. Can be used to explain approach anxiety: in that kind of context, approaching the wrong girl could be quite costly, you got either your head bashed, or lost chances with a large part of the nubile women of your tribe
  • handicap principle aka peacock theory if you can manage to dress like an idiot and be self-confident, you're more likely to be an alpha.
  • copycat: preselection

So far though, Mystery seems to me to be too focused on precise tactics for picking up per se (and specifically, picking up particularly hot women in certain contexts), not enough on wider game. At one point he even says obvious bullshit like "you gotta use manipulative tactics for the first approach, then you're good to go and can get real sincere interacting", instead of realizing game is needed for everyday life and LTRs too. Kinda disappointing if you consider the EP foundation and the fact that EP does apply to and explain a lot more (sexual selection and natural selection), e.g. things like why sugar is bad for you, another mismatch example.

Now let's add another concept, brought by Game theory:

  • shit test: a question where the right answer is not the one that is seemingly expected; a demand where doing what is seemingly expected is the wrong thing to do. Example: a woman asks you to do something, then thinks less of you for doing it.

And another one, essential for EP:

  • Number of theoretically possible offspring per year: female, one, male, a lot.

Sorry. I'm too lazy to make it work under IE. Get Firefox or something.
